CONGRESS LOGO

With the 21st Geophysical Congress & Exhibition of Türkiye, our congress will have a permanent logo. The logo designed for this congress with the decision of the Board of Directors of TMMOB Chamber of Geophysical Engineers dated 28.02.2024 and numbered 19/16 is the permanent logo of Geophysical Congress & Exhibition of Türkiye.

Let's get to know our logo more closely; the logo consists of three main parts:

  1. The inner one represents the core of the earth and the outer one represents the other layers of the earth. The outer semicircle is discretized as unstructured with triangular elements commonly used in geophysical numerical solutions.
  2. The 12 colors on the outer right side of the logo are inspired by the color scale commonly used in the presentation of geophysical sections and models. Sometimes resistivity, sometimes density...
  3. There is also a wavelet in the logo. Wavelet transforms are a common technique in geophysical data processing and there are many wavelets that can be used depending on the purpose. In the logo, the waveform of the Meyer mother wavelet [1] is used in the time domain.

The logo, which can be used both vertically and horizontally, has the number of congresses organized on the left side. In the 21st Geophysical Congress & Exhibition of Türkiye’s logo, the semicircle representing the core and the orange color in the logo of our chamber for the number of congresses were preferred. In our congresses to be held in the coming years, we recommend that colors be selected from the color scale in the logo and used for both the number of congresses and the core.

We would like to thank all our colleagues who offered their ideas in imagining, designing and finalizing the logo.

We believe that our congress will continue uninterruptedly for years with its permanent new logo.

Best regards.
